When Mortgage Loan Officer Ximena Dockery sits down with her clients, ‘All we see is you’ is at the forefront with her receptive and attentive approach to helping them achieve home ownership.
They say “home is where the heart is” and for Ximena Dockery, that means BB&T – in more ways than one.
“I’ve been with BB&T for 22 years because their values match my own. It is very refreshing to work for a company that cares about their clients and associates the way BB&T does,” Dockery said.
As a mortgage loan officer, Dockery understands the emotional power of homeownership and “All we see is you” for her means listening to her clients so they can achieve that dream.
“There is nothing more rewarding than watching someone achieve homeownership. It is such a great accomplishment and having the opportunity to be a part of it is very fulfilling,” Dockery said.
And every client story is special. From clients getting their first homes to coming up with ways to help her clients find significant cost savings for the future, Dockery finds her role fulfilling and rewarding. She has even helped a number of BB&T associates finance their homes, thanks in large part to word of mouth about the positive experiences they’ve had working with her.
“I focus on staying honest and finding the best mortgage solutions for everyone – including other associates. Of the roughly 300 families I’ve helped in the past three years, 15 have been fellow associates. Word-of-mouth keeps me busy!” Dockery said.
Since Dockery has been at BB&T, she’s enjoyed being a part of the BB&T Lighthouse Project. In fact, when she first joined the Mortgage team, she participated in a Habitat for Humanity build – a unique experience that brought her career and her community service full-circle to see a beautiful new home at the end.
“It was very special to see the final product and the faces of the new homeowners when they were awarded their home,” Dockery said. “Part of our mission is making the communities in which we work better places to be. Associates are encouraged to volunteer locally through BB&T’s Lighthouse Project. I’ve seen many people touched through this effort. Being able to give back to our community in such a way is remarkable,” Dockery said.
Dockery also gives back outside of her work at BB&T and is an active member of the community.
“Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. We have two young boys who do taekwondo and play soccer and basketball. We give back – and pass values on to our kids – through church and volunteering,” Dockery said.
