BB&T awards $685,000 to 19 Lehigh Valley organizations

As part of its mission to make the world a better place to live, BB&T made an exciting announcement today for several organizations in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Nineteen organizations will receive grants totaling $685,000 from the BB&T Economic Growth Fund of Lehigh Valley Community Foundation.

“BB&T has a long history of supporting our communities,” said BB&T Community Banking Group Executive Scott V. Fainor. “We are proud to provide community leadership at this level and play a role in the future health and prosperity of the Lehigh Valley.”

In conjunction with the BB&T/National Penn merger, $5 million was donated to two local foundations, Berks County Community Foundation and Lehigh Valley Community Foundation, with each receiving $2.5 million to establish a BB&T Economic Growth Fund.

To date, BB&T donated a total of $2,452,000 through the BB&T Economic Growth Fund of Lehigh Valley Community Foundation. During the 2018 phase of allocation, the following grants were given in the Lehigh Valley:

National Museum of Industrial History $15,000
