Experience

Yates has more than thirty years experience in the financial services industry. He joined BB&T in 1989 through the merger of equals between BB&T and Southern National Bank in 1995. Prior to managing BB&T’s Corporate Banking, Capital Markets and Scott & Stringfellow Private Client Group activities, Rufus served as City Executive in High Point, North Carolina. In 2009, he became the President and Chief Executive Officer for Scott & Stringfellow, LLC. He also manages Clearview Correspondent Services, LLC, BB&T’s securities clearing broker dealer.
