Chris Henson began his banking career in 1985 when he entered BB&T’s Management Development program. He has served as city executive in Wilson and Greensboro, N.C., president of BB&T’s Hampton Roads Region, and president of BB&T’s Atlanta Region, as well as Georgia State president. He was named BB&T's chief financial officer in 2005 and has served as chief operating officer since January 2009.
