• BB&T was named among the Top 20 of the World's Strongest Banks by Bloomberg Markets magazine in May 2012.
• BB&T was named Best Customer Service Practices Bank - USA and Premier Middle Market Insurance Provider - USA by InterContinental Finance magazine in their 2012 Global Banking Awards.
• BB&T was named a 2012 Greenwich Excellence Award Winner by Greenwich Associates, a leading financial services research firm. BB&T was the winner of 22 Excellence Awards in Middle Market and Small Business Banking.
• BB&T was recognized as one of "America's Best Banks" by Forbes. Out of the 100 biggest banks in the U.S., BB&T ranked #37, up from last year's ranking #42. Any bank between #1 and #50 was considered one of America's Best Banks, while those ranking 50-100 were considered America's Worst Banks.
• BB&T ranked 1st in the 2012 TNS Choice Awards for Small Business Banking and the 2012 TNS Choice Awards for Middle Market Banking.
• The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times/StarMine consistently rank BB&T Capital Markets among top equity research analysts for their stock selection and earnings estimation performance.
• BB&T Retirement & Institutional Services earned 33 Best in Class awards for Participant Services and Sponsor Services among 401(k) providers in a 2012 national survey by PLANSPONSOR magazine.
• BB&T was recognized by the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) for its training programs and awarded ASTD's 2012 BEST Award. ASTD honored 30 organizations throughout the world including BB&T, which ranked 6th. This is the 5th year BB&T has received this coveted award.
• BB&T has been recognized by Harris Interactive as the 2012 Harris Poll EquiTrend Study-Super Regional Bank Brand of the Year. BB&T's score of 57.77 (out of 100) ranked first in the category.
• BB&T Commercial Finance has been recognized as the largest import factor in the world for goods entering the United States every year since 2009, according to edifactoring.com.
• BB&T Regional Acceptance was named a Diamond Award Winner for its first place ranking in Auto Dealer Monthly's, 2012 Dealers' Choice Awards - Subprime Credit Finance category. This marks the third time in three years Regional Acceptance has been ranked either first (2010) or second (2011).
• BB&T's website ranked #1 for Ease of Use, according to Keynote Systems' 2011 Keynote Banker Scorecard.
• BB&T has been consistently recognized for excellent training 12 years straight by Training magazine's Top 125, BB&T ranked No. 8 overall and No.1 among banks in 2012.
• BB&T's website ranked first in Overall Customer Experience in Keynote's competitive study evaluating U.S. Retail Bank Marketing websites in 2012. BB&T placed first in Brand Impact, Acquisition Impact and Customer Satisfaction and third in Online Adoption.
• BB&T has paid a cash dividend every year since 1903.
• BB&T and its affiliates have been recognized for superior community services
• The Financial Services Roundtable recently awarded BB&T its Leadership in Community Service Award for 2012.
• BB&T's 2012 Lighthouse Project touched the lives of more than 2 million people in 25 states.  Since the Lighthouse Project began in 2009, employees have donated more than 150,000 hours to carry out 3,200 community service projects.
